Packing and Moving Tips – Commandments in Relocating
If you’re thinking that this is your ordinary list of what to do and what not to do when you’re about to move, then perhaps you might want to rethink that thought. While many of us already know what needs to be done and what needs to be avoided when relocating, there are some things that may need more attention than what you originally thought. Curious? Read on to find out more.
SOME UNCOMMON TIPS FOR PACKING AND MOVING
Thou Shall Not Get a Manicure
Well, at least after everything about the move is finished. Packing and moving requires a lot of hand-related tasks. Therefore, if you don’t want your precious French Tips to get ruined, get them after you’ve successfully transferred to your new home.
Thou Shall Not Pack Your Cutter
Packing and moving can be very stressful as it overloads the mind with a lot of information. Hence, it comes to no question that there are some things that can be absentmindedly done, like packing in your cutter. The worst part of this scenario is that you will only realize that the cutter is in one of the boxes when you’ve already arrived at your new home. Even worse, you forgot which box you placed it in. While it can be remedied by taking a quick trip to an office supply store, the time it takes for you to get there is better spent in opening the boxes to start sorting your things out in your new home. Otherwise, you might have just to rip the boxes open, that is, if it’s okay with you.
Thou Shall Not Work Without Refreshments
Moving can become such a chore that it can be hard to take note of the time that has passed. A good way to know how long you’ve been packing your stuff is the sound your stomach makes. With your mind filled with things that needs to be finished before moving day, it can be easy to forget about snacks, or even lunch. So to avoid that, make sure that you always have some snacks, or even a cold bottle of your favorite drink at the ready.
Thou Shall Not Wait Until the Last Minute
Even though moving day might still be weeks, or even months away, it is better to start now than be sorry later on. Cramming will give you all kinds of stress you don’t want to experience. This can then lead to forgetting all kinds of important details, such as accidentally packing that cutter into a box.
But if you need to take care of other things to make for a smoother packing and moving experience, Golan’s Moving & Storage is just one phone call away for us to help you with your relocation needs.
