Move around Chicago via trolley this holiday
Golan’s Moving Company in Chicago transports furniture. But who is moving you? If you’re relocating to Chicago from another state, you may take a plane. If you’re simply moving around the city, you can use a car, hail a cab or even hop on the famed El train. And during the city’s holiday season, you can board a trolley!
That’s right, those who have just moved to Chicago can get their bearings via a trolley ride. Or, if you’re moving away and want to bid farewell to your favorite Windy City sites, Chicago Trolley’s Signature Hop-On, Hop-Off Sightseeing Tour is the ride for you.
The trolley travels 13 miles with 14 stops including Skydeck Chicago, the Chicago Theater, Millennium Park, Water Tower Place, The Art Institute, Navy Pier, the John Hancock Observatory, and museum campus—home to the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium and Adler Planetarium! This full downtown tour is approximately two hours, with the option to hop on and off all day long.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Chicago Trolley will give patrons a discount off their fare when they donate a non-perishable food item through November 30. The drop-off location and ticket discount is only available on site at the Millennium Park kiosk.
During weekends in the winter, there’s also a narrated two-hour holiday tour that celebrates the season. Decked out with festive wreathes, the Special Holiday Lights Tour showcases Macy’s holiday windows, the John Hancock Plaza tree and Navy Pier’s Winter Wonderfest; and visits Zoo Lights at Lincoln Park Zoo and Christkindlmarket, the traditional Christmas German Market at Daley Plaza from November 23 to December 31.
Regular tours operate daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. No tours run on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Regular tours depart from The John Hancock Building. Tickets must be purchased in advance. For more information, call 773-648-5000.
